The American Chemistry Council (ACC) has named LyondellBasell a Responsible Care Company of the Year, in recognition of the company’s outstanding achievement in environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) performance.
It is one of four companies that received the award ACC President and Chief Executive Officer Cal Dooley praised the efforts put in over the past year.
“The American Chemistry Council is pleased to recognize LyondellBasell with its highest honor – the Responsible Care Company of the Year Award,” he said.
“Through its leadership and commitment to superior environmental performance and the health and safety of its workers and the community as a whole, LyondellBasell is leading our industry in building a safer, more sustainable future.”
To be eligible for the Responsible Care Company of the Year award, companies must demonstrate how they have surpassed Responsible Care performance criteria.
This includes a safety performance rating in the top 10 percent of companies in their size category, with no significant process incidents in the previous year; positive performance measures in the areas of transportation safety, process safety and emissions reduction; and a demonstration of improvements in EHS&S performance, product stewardship, distribution safety and emergency preparedness.
